The effects don't seem to be that awful. It will install some toolbars and stuff like that against your will, which is very annoying, but at least you don't risk losing important data or damage your computer.
Mediafire and 4Shared are known to host this Ad (which is still unknown), so for the next couple weeks try to use them as least as possible, as you have the chance of getting a damn Malware.
I was told that numerous other Music Blogs were experiencing this. The Trojan is coming from the Download Links not the Blog itself. The Blogs have no influence on it at all.
Also it seems like this Ad is also running on Youtube and Amazon.
This Link, here, will explain in detail how to get rid of it, once it gets to your computer.
The name of the file is XVidSetup.exe
Red Greetings!

"Mac users have no need to worry". What else is new?! :D
ReplyDelete^^^There's always one, isn't there? If you want to pay twice as much for a toy computer, that's your choice, but don't get "less popular so less targeted by malware" with "better". I can do anything you can do and more on my laptop which cost half what your iPad does, with the exception of some pointless 'Apps'. And Steve jobs was a selfish c**t who never helped anyone but himself in his life, whereas Bill Gates is, for a billionaire, at least not a total c**t.
ReplyDeleteHe is right. This Trojan is attacking Windows not Mac's.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stupid attack - I have owned both Macs and PCs and I can tell you the macs are so much better.
ReplyDeleteI have an emac that has lasted 11 years and still going strong.
I have had 6 PCs during the same time all of which fade and die.
Y do people always assume Microsoft has something to do with the quality of the hardware they purchased?
ReplyDeleteI've been in IT since 1977. I've seen the industry grow since the early days.
ReplyDeleteIt's not the hardware, it's the Microsoft codebase that's the problem. That, and they set up a virtual memory paging file and allow it to fragment so your PC ends up trawling through the hard drive looking for scraps of virtual memory. Doh!
Apple systems are better designed than most OEM laptops, though not all. The way a Mac does things, a la Unix, is more like a real computer (i.e. IBM mainframe) than Windows. You are paying for proper software and hardware with Apple. Take your choice ...
